Subaru is the automobile division of Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI), based in Tokyo, Japan. Established 1954 by Kenji Kita, the first president of FHI, Subaru has staked their claim to fame in manufacturing affordable, capable all-wheel drive vehicles as well as performance cars, such as the Subaru Impreza WRX STi



Following the defeat of Japan in World War II, Nakajima Aircraft, a formidable weaponry manufacturer, was ordered by Allied forces to halt the production of aircraft and weaponry. It was divided into over a dozen smaller companies. Some of these merged later, others closed down.
