Aston Martin
Prodrive's relationship with Aston Martin began in 2004 after canceling their Ferrari program. It unveiled the DB9R, based on the roadgoing Aston Martin DB9 coupe. In their first outing with the DB9R, they won the 2005 12 Hours of Sebring. At Le Mans in 2005, they placed third behind the factory Corvette team. In 2006 they improved to 2nd at Le Mans behind Corvette, and in 2007 they took first place in GT1.
Prodrive Aston Martin Racing is scheduled for two entries in the 2008 24 Hours of Le Mans in the 007 and 009 cars.[1]
Prodrive has also launched a customer car effort involving the DBR9 for GT1 and DBR9S for GT3 racing.
In March 2007, Prodrive chairman David Richards led a consortium to buy Aston Martin from Ford.
Ford Performance Racing
Beginning in 2003, Prodrive began a program with Ford for the Australian V8 Supercar series. For the 2008 season, FPR runs a two car team with Steve Richards and Mark Winterbottom driving.
All FPR functions are run from Prodrive's Melbourne office.
Previous Motorsports Programs
From 2001 until 2004, Prodrive ran a program involving the Ferrari 550 and 575 Maranello in the FIA GT, American Le Mans Series, and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
