2005 Impreza STi - The 2005 Model Year of the Impreza STi trim level yielded more then a few changes.
- Two new exterior color choices were added to the roster: Obsidian Black Pearl (replaces Java Black Pearl) and Crystal Gray Metallic.

- The power assisted steering rack was now mounted in a improved cannon-style to further improve the steering feel.
- Rear lateral links were now made out of aluminum, and the rear cross member was now a 3-Point unit. This helped to give the car a sharper turn in feel.
- The DCCD (Driver Controlled Center Differential) was now equipped a yaw sensor (NOT AYC).
- The interior received a major face lift to the steering wheel, door panels, and center console area.
- The Premium Sound Package was now standard on the 2005 STi.

- Gear ratios revised as well as the DCCD.
- The trunk lid now included the Subaru Emblem in place of the old "WRX Impreza" badge on the left, on the right the "Impreza" badge is fitted under the "STI" plate.
